Tools for Justice
Updated On: May 03, 2012

Brenda Rascher, NOLSW/UAW Local 2320 member and attorney at South Jersey Legal Services, was horrified when the state of New Jersey enacted cuts to legal services funding that resulted in mass layoffs. Brenda felt something needed to be done about it, so she started a non-profit corporation called Tools for Justice, Inc. to raise money for legal services.

Brenda started by taking a sabbatical from work, gathered first-person accounts of people who were helped by legal services programs and began writing a book. The culmination of that work is Eavesdropping on Bar Talk: A Collection of True Case Stories from Legal Services Attorney. For a donation of $50.00 each person will receive the hardcopy of the book and for $30.00 each person will receive the paperback version.

Proceeds from the donations for this book will be sent to the legal services program that covers the donor’s hometown – anywhere in the United States.
