Call to the National Joint Council
Celebrate the Past; Fight for the Future!
Las Vegas, Nevada – January 21-24, 2018
This National Joint Council (NJC) will be held at the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada from Sunday January 21st through Wednesday January 24th, 2018. The NJC is the one time every 18 months that NOLSW members from around the country gather together in one place to attend workshops, listen to speakers, discuss issues, solve problems, and HAVE FUN!
This January, we will be celebrating NOLSW’s 40th Anniversary! It will be a time to commemorate our victories and share the lessons we’ve learned, but it is also a time to look toward the future and fight to maintain the values we hold dear. With President Trump in the White House, we face unprecedented instability and uncertainty in our institutions and norms both domestically and abroad. Threats against unions, immigrants, healthcare, and voting rights loom large.
At the same time, there is a growing awareness among many Americans that our country is going in the wrong direction. Around the country, activists are striving to shine a spotlight on economic injustice and political corruption. Ordinary people, working together, are beginning to demand that politicians stop catering to the über-wealthy and the corporations, and start representing the interests of working people.
