NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS FOR
UAW LOCAL UNION 2320
NATIONAL OFFICER ELECTIONS

Every member of UAW Local 2320 who has been a member in continuous good standing for at least one year immediately prior to date of the posting of this notice is automatically nominated for the following Local 2320 National Officer positions:

National Vice-President[1]
Human Services Vice-President [1], [2], 4
Recording Secretary [1]
Financial Secretary/Treasurer [1]
Five (5) Regional Vice-Presidents: Northeast, Midwest, Southeast, Southwest, West[1],[3],[4]

            A member who wishes to accept the nomination for any National Officer position listed above must indicate her or his acceptance in writing, delivered by one of the following methods: certified mail, return receipt requested; hand delivery; or facsimile, to:

Acceptances of nominations must be received during the nomination period, which ends atMIDNIGHT, AUGUST 15, 2013.

A member may NOT accept nomination for more than one National Officer position.

A member may nominate any other member or members of his or her choice for any National Officer position listed above. To nominate another member, the member must send notification of the nomination in writing to the Election Committee during the nomination period, in the same manner as prescribed above for the acceptance of nominations. The nominator is required to notify the nominee so that the nominee will be aware of the obligation to accept the nomination as set forth above. Failure to provide such notice will not invalidate the nomination nor excuse the nominee’s obligation to accept within the period set forth above. Failure of a nominee to accept by the deadline shall be deemed a rejection of the nomination.

Unopposed candidates shall be considered elected without the necessity of an election.  If there are any contested elections, elections for those National Offices will commence in October 2013. Each member will receive an official Notice of Election and a Mail Ballot along with instructions and the date by which the ballot must be returned.

[1]The National Officers shall be the Local Union’s delegates to the UAW National, State & Area CAP conventions, conferences, and meetings.

[2]The Human Services Vice-President shall be a member of a unit representing in whole or in part human services workers and shall be elected by the entire membership (Local 2320 Bylaws, Art. VII, § 1).

[3]The Regional Vice-Presidents shall reside in and be elected by their respective regions (Local 2320 Bylaws, Art. VII, § 1).

[4]Three (3) Trustees shall be selected by the National Executive Board from among the Regional Vice-Presidents and the Human Services Vice-President (Local 2320 Bylaws, Art. VII, § 1).
